Genetically modified animals rebel themselves to the anthropocentric condition that considers them like manipulating material, in a funny and coloured way.
These kaleidoabsurd monsters are the main characters of my artistic works as well as spokesmen of the desire for a more fair and funny reality even when they vigorously show their own skin and entrails.
I think that I ideologically feel more next to the animal sphere than to the human one.
The magnetism for biological differences, the medical/scientific illustrations, the rejection/curiosity for the “powers” of the genetic industry, are connected to the spirit of rebellion toward both preconception and passion for the lysergic and fanciful atmospheres, producing a creation on the relationship among authenticity and artificiality, inside and outside, symbiosis and dichotomy.
On walls, canvas and through the others media I try to investigate the relationship between human beings and all other living creatures.
I like to stress on the human desire to dominate others living species, with the charm that animals exercise on the human imaginary in terms of totemic powers and supernatural gifts.
From a theoretical point of view, my work had strongly been influenced by decision to become vegetarian when I was 16 years old. That decision strength my bound on the animal sphere, through the examination of the animal suffering tied to the food, pharmaceutical and clothing industries and other industrial sectors …
I think that another element that has influenced my today's sign is related to the artistic movement originated by the exhibition Post Human and the TransgenicArt; the study or the meeting with artists as Eduardo Kac, Tissue Culture & Art, Alexis Rockman, Karin Andersen and many others, outlined inside of me a spirit of sharing the animal cause on an ideological and political level.
On the other hand, my graphic sign follows the typical naturalness of the childish sketch; but sometimes it is influenced by the psychedelic visions, and other times by an expressionist‘s approach.
Also the the world of street art made me grow up so much, the connection with other artists and the travel dimension, it's a really openmind world. I'm really interest on the possibility of the expression in the public space.
I love bright and saturated colours and I often support them with fluorescent colours, that I mix with a texture of coriandols and tridimensional elements, producing unitary figures composed by different styles.
I am interested in bounding together yearning or violent factors with cheerful and festive feelings. For example by connecting themes such as genetic manipulation with a description made by bright colours in carnival atmospheres.
The rebellion of the Mutated that I represent is not conditioned by a blind and intentional hate, which is typical for their executioners, but it is impulsive and burlesque.
Rebellion and happyness; two feelings that I believe are the lighthouses of my line besides of my personal inner condition.
